Under the law ( The No Surprises Act, enacted by Congress in 2020, effective as of 1/1/2022), health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance (“self-pay” or “private pay”) an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Yes, I am an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan PPO and Traditional plans and with Optum/ United Behavioral Health/Unite Health Care. If you choose to use your insurance benefit, you will need to first contact your insurance provider to confirm your benefit for psychotherapy services.
For other insurance plans, as an out-of-network provider, I can provide you with a Super Bill, upon request. In this case, you pay for therapy sessions, I then provide you with the Superbill that includes all required information, which you can then submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, if there is an available out-of-network benefit from your insurer. Please note a superbill does not guarantee reimbursement for out-of-network services from your insurance company.
Otherwise, I accept credit card private payments for online therapy services, or, cash, check or credit card payments for in-person sessions.
Therapy is a worthwhile investment of both time and money, as your well-being is essential. Yes, there is a cost, however, seeing yourself and your personal growth as worthy and valuable is part of the work!

During the first appointment, we will spend time getting to know each other, talking about your story, and what brings you to therapy. We’ll discuss your goals for our sessions. We will also review clinical forms to get started and discuss informed consent for therapy, confidentiality and any questions you have about therapy.
-
That depends on your needs and goals for therapy. We will discuss what makes the most sense for you after assessment and when we are developing your treatment plan. For some, therapy is brief, perhaps just a few sessions. For others, it may take a longer time, depending on needs, rate of progress and reaching the defined goals.
